The Department of State Services (DSS) has given the Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Limited and oil marketers a 48-hour ultimatum to make Premium Motor Spirit, often known as petrol, available for Nigerians.
This was disclosed on Thursday by Peter Afunanya, the Spokesman for DSS, whereas briefing journalists at its workplace in Abuja after a closed-door assembly with stakeholders within the petroleum sector.
He said that NNPC assured through the assembly that it has ample product to serve Nigerians throughout and after the Yuletide season.
He mentioned the DSS would activate its operations throughout the nation in the event that they failed to adjust to the directive.
Afunanya additionally lamented the problem of gasoline shortage, noting that it has assumed a dimension that’s dangerous to the safety of the nation.
